Centered By The Sea Psychotherapy

LMSW (seeking supervision hours) · MHC-LP · LP-eligible MFT-LP LP-eligible

Long Beach, NY | Hybrid | Insurance-Friendly Practice

Transformation that runs deep.

Centered by the Sea is a brand new group practice rooted in the vibrant community of Long Beach, NY. Founded by Jessica Cesare, a psychologist with over 16 years of private practice experience. Jessica has teamed up with her mother, Eileen Cesare, a psychologist with over 20 years of professional supervisory experience, to build something different and special from the ground up, and we want the right people to help shape what it becomes.

This is a rare opportunity. You'll be one of the first, which means your voice and your values will genuinely influence the culture and the way we grow. Our supervision will be tailored to each individual's unique needs while developing a clear path to clinically competentancy & financially secure future in private practice.

About the Practice:

Centered by the Sea is built on the belief that real therapeutic work goes beyond symptom management. We are a relationally oriented, insight-driven practice committed to the kind of care that runs deeper than the surface.

Located in Long Beach, a close-knit island community with ocean views, a boardwalk, and a beautifully diverse population, we are here to serve everyone. Kids through older adults, all backgrounds and all insurance types. No barriers to care.

We practice with curiosity, warmth, and a deep respect for the complexity of every human being in front of us.

What We Offer:

Clinical Supervision with Real Depth:

Weekly individual supervision from a licensed psychologist with 18+ years of clinical experience.
Psychodynamically oriented guidance to help you deepen your theoretical understanding and sharpen your clinical voice.
Supervision that prepares you for independent practice.
Training in documentation, record-keeping, and insurance navigation.

Clinical Experience That Builds Your Career:

A caseload that exposes you to genuine diversity of ages, presentations, life experiences, and therapeutic goals.
Work with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents.
Space to practice autonomy and develop your own therapeutic style.
A small practice environment where your work is seen and your growth is supported.

A Place You'll Want to Come To:

You'll have a hybrid schedule of in-person and virtual flexibility.
A warm, enthusiastic team environment that genuinely encourages self-care and professional growth.
The chance to be part of building something new and your input will shape how this practice grows.

Who We're Looking For:

We want to hear from therapists who are genuinely interested in the whole person sitting across from them, not just the presenting diagnosis. If you find yourself thinking about your clients between sessions, wondering about the deeper story underneath the surface struggle, you'll fit right in here.

We're Especially Excited to Hear From Clinicians Who:

Are drawn to psychodynamic, relational, CBT and insight-oriented frameworks, or are excited to deepen their understanding of these approaches.
Believe that a person's life experience, identity, and relationships are just as important as their symptoms.
Are comfortable working across a wide range of ages and life circumstances.
Come from diverse backgrounds themselves. We truly value different cultures, life experiences, languages, and identities.
Take their documentation seriously and understand why it matters.

Requirements:

LMSW seeking supervision hours toward LCSW licensure, MHC-LP / LP-eligible, MFT-LP / LP-eligible.
Availability for a minimum weekly commitment with a hybrid in-person and virtual schedule.
Detail-oriented approach to clinical documentation and case management.
Collaborative spirit and openness to ongoing supervision and growth.

Why Now:

Centered by the Sea is brand new, which means the clinicians who join us now will help define what kind of practice we become, the cases we take, and the culture we build.

There is something special about therapy by the sea. Long Beach has a pace and a community all of its own, and we think that makes a difference.

Good therapy changes people. So does the right workplace. If this sounds like the role you have been looking for, we'd love to hear from you.
